I'm working on it, but like any artwork if you do too much it can easily be ruined. I have made a few refinements already theres just some areas that still just didn't 'feel 'right. it is looking much better now though, I've always wanted to build this model, so one thing at a time. If you look at the blueprints or see the movie you'll notice some of the fuel spheres are faceted geodesic spheres, as for the bio-domes I want them to look the best. I can make the model High-res as possible but then it might not work in celestia, I have to watch that fine line.

again I'm working on it, thanks man I appreciate feedback so that I can make it better. :D

High resolution models DO work in Celestia, don't worry about this. Just make the tubes and the spheres smooth. The trees also need some work. This will make a very good model.

fsgregs wrote: I still strongly encourage the add-on to at least add a Beginning date to the ssc file, so the ship does not appear until sometime in the future (the year 2200 or 2300 would probably match the technology needed to build such a ship). For pete's sake, it doesn't hurt anything and will eliminate the issue I am pointing out. The ship is far too advanced for the year 2005.

Does anyone else agree, or am I really off base here? :roll:

Yeh, I agree on this, you can always make the beginning date optional with use of the '#' !!!

But from what I can gather the story is set in the year 2047. (check out the links below);

Terrier:

Yep, you are right. The movie takes place in 2047. However, that is only a few decades away. The ship is massive, uses a faster-than-light drive and appears to be based on a long space-faring history.

The way our space programs are going, with the ISS costing $100 BILLION and running years behind schedule and a modest mission to Mars at least 10 years away, it will be a LONG time before a ship like the Event Horizon is ever built. At least 100 years from now in my humble opinion. Its the same issue as with the spacecraft from the movie 2001, a Space Odyssey. Having a massive rotating giant space station in orbit above Earth in 2001 is simply not realistic, and did not take place, so why not move the years forward to say 2101. It may not be true to the movie but it is more realistic from a space science standpoint

So, if the ssc file is for Event Horizon is to have a Beginning date, I recommend 2100 or 2200. Just my opinion.... but ...

I'm not a programmer but if it helps to change the time factor go ahead. imaginations and dreams are where some truly great concepts come from ,without them the stoic reality of being stuck on one planet isn't that appealing , why isn't there a moonbase? can the shuttle even go there even once for a flyby, we have a shuttle we have a moon whats the problem? and don't say its money.
