Hello everybody,
I still have lot of regular work, so the stack will be released in a few days...
Meanwhile, in the few time I can save, I'm making some tiny modifs on the shuttle...
- The Nasa Logo from Jack,
- The "NASA" on both side of the shuttle,
- New thrusters,
- One more cut on the wings.
Those modifs will be part of the stack of course...
Bye

This "Nasalisation" script logo also applied to the wing on the original Atlantis shuttle before it's 1997 refit.
See pics STS-86 (1997) plan view and STS-86 (1997) side view.
I'm not sure it appeared on the cargo bay doors when the circular logo was used after 1997. See pics
STS-112 (2002), andSTS-101 (2000).
cheers,
TERRIER

Yes you must be right... It's Endeavour which have both logos... I tought I had seen the same with atlantis, but probably it was late in the night... ...so adios NASA logos...
Tx
Bye
PS:
BTW Terrier, do you remember to have seen a pic of the thrusters of the SRBs? for now I haven't found, and as I plan to release the stack with 3 models, the stack, the emissive smoke and the grey smoke (if someone want to delete the smoke it's quite easy by changing the ssc), I must do the thrusters...

Hopefully not a permanent adios....it would be nice to see a pre-'97 version of Atlantis too.

I don't know if this and this will be any help ?
I must say that what I can see of the outer skirt to the nozzle in your screenshot of the "head-on take-off" looks more than OK to me.
The skirts of the SRB's also act as a supportive base for the whole of the stack, when transported in the vertical position, so I think the nozzle is hidden inside. Although gimballed, it doesn't need to be anything special.

TERRIER

HI.
The model is very nice. However, when I downloaded it from Motherlode and launched it, I discovered Atlantis to be flying sideways and almost broadside. This is a common occurance when the ssc file does not include an Obliquity command. The position of the ship will change over the course of an orbit. Due to several of the other lines, it became difficult to correct the ssc so that Atlantis is always flying nose first, without limiting some of the orbit parameters.
Here is an alternative ssc for Atlantis, that places it in a tilted fictional orbit but always aligns it nose first. Feel free to use it, or modify it as you see fit:
Regards,
Frank

Sorry, ignore what I said. The nozzle seems to be in 2 parts, a converging piece that is hidden, then a diverging extension piece that extends beyond the aft skirt.
Check out this info;
Pdf Document.

You can just make out the nozzle extensionin this photo.

Hello everybody,
I'm stopping the stack for now, cause I'm not satisfied with the smoke...
Now I'm going to end the flight deck and once this done, I will modify the windows of the shuttle. Then I will update the actual Atlantis on ML and upload the stack with the brand new and completed shuttle...
Meanwhile the actual stack can be downloaded (LINK DELETED)
I'm interested in comments on missing details, LongLat position etc...
Bye

ElChristou,
The stack is looking awsome, especially when viewing it with the Florida / KSC high resolution V.T.'s.
I just noticed that the model needs 2 or 3 surface normals repairing to the top of the nose cap on one of the SRB's.
regards,
TERRIER
PS
Although it would be nice to see some smoke, I'm not sure it's necessary. However, if it can be modelled acurately then by all means go ahead. I think it's almost an impossible task ?

Tx, will look for this...

As said previously, I have tested several solutions for the smoke but I'm not satisfied yet... in all case I think I will release the official stack on ML with a "removable" smoke (via ssc), but a bit later cause I want first to end the flight deck to redo the windows of the shuttle (the filght deck permit me a better placing of the windows)... As I still have lot of regular work for now, things go slower... ...but they goes...

Hi, everybody
Time to go back on the Flight Deck modeling... Sorry for the long break...
Tonight I have redone the seats... Here is the actual state:
