bh,
I downloaded the isscomplete.3ds from your site and used the texture pack issjpegs.zip. I then had to use 3dstocmod to change the file to ascii. I had to edit the file to change all the file names to lower case and replaced the bmp extension with jpg. The textures load as far as I can tell but as you can see from this screen shot, the words are mirrored. I only flipped the USA. Question is, How many of these textures do I have to flip?

Okay, I just used the file issjune07t.zip and converted that to cmod. There were 29 lines with upper case and bmp extensions. When I used the 3ds file unaltered, a lot of textures loaded but not all of course.
Edit: I am currently using openSuse10.2. I guess this all works correctly in Windows?

Hello cartrite... yes... for the issjune07t (for truss) I had to re-link the tex files to the jpegs. They should ALL be in lower case. There may be referals to BMPs for the model that were not needed. I don't think this should cause any probs though.

I'll try do do a clean-up for the next release... I'm still confused as to whether I should go with jpegs OR stick with the original BMPs. Help!

As to the flipped images I'm pretty sure they're just the flags and logos... I think they're fixed now for the jpegs and I'm sure I've fixed the original texture pack (bmps).

Phew!

As to the model.... it's ready to go bar the textures... I will have to go through them one by one and re-link them. I'll try and do this tomorrow as my head is swimming!

The model will be as after Nov9 when 'Harmony' is attached to the front of the ISS.

When using the linux system and the isscomplete.3ds, the screen said bmp's were loading but no textures were being rendered. This may have been a upper case issue also.

After I changed the upper case to lower and the remaining bmp extensions to jpg on the issjune07t.zip file, a few more textures were rendered. Not sure how many more though.

bh,

It'd be best to use JPEGs.

Although Celestia is able to display some BMPs, they are not officially supported and some may not work. Best to avoid that confusion.

Okay Selden, thanks for that.

cartrite... the textures in issjpegs.zip are ALL the original files converted. So if you've loaded them into your medres folder they should be good to go with all subsequent ISS releases.

Model should be ready tomorrow.

Will the new model be posted on the main celestiamotherlode website or will you put it somewhere else?

Here is a screen shot from issjune07t .cmod after I changed the remaining lines to lower case.jpg.

Also I'm using cvs version 09/09/2007 kde. In this version the model completely disappears in OGL2 render path.

As for the flipping issue, Your new releases will be fixing that?
I didn't see any logo's or flags, etc. on the issjune07t model.

Blimey cartrite... my iss displays fine... not sure what's going on there... glad you got it to display correctly... it looks quite neat! As to the flipped flags/logos... there are all in the jpeg texture pack... there's no flags or logos on the model at the moment.

I'll make sure that the model just has references to the lowercase jpeg files NO uppercase or bmps.

I will upload the model to my webspace at bobhundley.com and link from here.

Must update my ISS page.

Now... what can go wrong?!

I created a copy folder and flipped the logo's and flags for the isscomplete.cmod. Uppercase corrected. Looks pretty cool. Good job.

Hang in there. You'll get things sorted out. If you want I could email you the isscomplete and issjune07t cmods. I don't have the cmodto3ds tool though.

When I wrote.
In this version the model completely disappears in OGL2 render path.

I found that it disappeared from the scene with that time stamp. The model is visible in OGL2, just not in the dark. When I move forward in time and it's in the daylight, it displays. The way it's supposed to I guess. But should it be rendered in the other render modes when it should be in the dark?

Shadows on irregular objects only work in the OpenGL 2.0 render path. I haven't done the work to make them function properly in the other paths, and I have no plans to do so. But if someone else feels like doing this, I'd invite them to contribute.

I wish I could help out there, but I only know enough about c++ to get into trouble. Long time ago, in a different lifetime it seems now, I used to be able to code assembler, fortran, cobol, and a little pascal. Back when the dino's ruled the earth. But I've forgotten most of it. What I can remember, I apply to c++. But that's what gets me in trouble.

Here she is....

ISS post STS 120

840kb unzipped

Texture pack (Important...now jpegs)

Couple of things... could do with Canadarm 2 on the truss... can someone make one to add to the model?
Also stringers for the mid rads extension mechanism are missing... shrug.

Many thanks to Andrew Farnaby for letting me mash up his fine model.

If someone would like to convert to cmod please go ahead.

I think now you can understand.Look at it:
http://img87.imageshack.us/my.php?image ... gedfc1.jpg
http://img88.imageshack.us/my.php?image ... alsal9.jpg
http://img87.imageshack.us/my.php?image ... agsyb3.jpg
http://img88.imageshack.us/my.php?image ... ed2ks6.jpg

You can see that the ISS model HAS textures, but SOME small details like e.g,the US flag and the NASA and ESA logo aren??t here.
I had EVEN used Photoshop to change the files from BMP to JPG,but it was of NO USE!And yes,I have the texture pack that I unzip to textures>medres.
Any ideas?

Oh crikey... If you're using the older models you must use the older texture pack (with the BMPs)... No harm in putting both sets of textures into your medres folder...

I'll have to check the ISS complete model myself... could be I didn't link the decals... never was much of a logo or flag man myself. Wait a minute... I'll relink the tex files for this model with the jpegs and re-upload. Later.

Bob... thanks a lot matey!

It's very nice, but one slight problem.
I believe before the radiators on the P2/S2 array can be deployed, the Zarya solar arrays must be retracted.
Current Setup:
Windows 7 64 bit. Celestia 1.6.0.
AMD Athlon Processor, 1.6 Ghz, 3 Gb RAM
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics
