2 things -

First do you have the Star Wars add-on with the first death star installed?

Second the directory structure of the deathstar II addon is not correct for the newer Celestia versions. To make it work you need to create a new directory structure:

Unzip the add-on into a temporary folder.

Create a new folder called "DeathstarII" (or any other name you like) in your Celestia extras directory.

Move the folders called models and textures into this new folder

Now here is what is causing your problem - Take the .ssc file out of the folder called extras and put in into the new folder. Rename it SWDSII.ssc
It must be renamed to load after StarWar.ssc because it orbits objects in that folder. If it is not renamed it will be loaded before that file and Celestia will not recognize it because it refers to objects that are not yet in Celestia's database.

You should end up with a new folder in your extras directory that contains:

models folder (from the add-on)
textures folder (from the add-on)
renamed .ssc file (from the add-on)

That should solve the problem. The creator of the mod used some workarounds that may be causing problems. Check the Read-Me for more information about them.
