I just re-installed ALL software from the OS up on this machine, and want to get Celestia up-and-running without taking ten years to do it. I don't have the time or patience to screen all of the possible alternative texture candidates, and am therefore conducting an informal survey - asking other users to offer suggestions for what, in their experience and/or opinion, are the "best" (I hesitate to use that word) surface maps for various celestial bodies. I've got decent hardware for doing high-quality video/renders, so that's not (I hope) a limiting factor.
I appreciate that this is all VERY subjective. The last thing I want to start is a big ol' fight over who's got the best kung fu. Just looking for suggestions for the good quality, that's all.
