Bloody hell Chris...you are going into super detail mode! How big in megs do you predict the finished model? I'm only using a GForce2 and 256 Ram.

You are doing a fine job and no mistake...I'll email you a pint of ESB when it's possible to do so!

regards...bh.

Hello ElChristou, there is a big missing in your last image:
the fingerprint of the technician who screwed the nuts. :D :D :D

Seriously speaking, your is an astonishingly beautiful work, my sincere compliments. :D
Cannot wait to see the final result, and to show it in my astronomy shows, even more now, beacuse almost surely children will have no more opportunities to see Shuttle "live" in the future.
Very appreciated!

Tx guys, I want to do a good base model, then we will be free to illustrate whatever mission using it by adding the conviniant elements...

I don't really know how big will be the final 3DS, but I do a big work to eliminate all useless information (poly). Don't forget the actual prerelease Shuttle+FD is only a 3,4Mo 3DS file (quite light for this model, no?) My config is not a beast of war (litteral traduction of "b??te de guerre" in French), so if I can run it within *my* Celestia, I think the majority won't have any problems.

"My" Earth with Jestr's MkII VT and Don Edwards' cloud shadows is pretty heavy already on my pc. I wonder if it'll be able to handle that and your "opened" Atlantis together.
Amazing model.

Hello,

The doors are almost done; it was a bit long, but now things will go faster.

Here the actual state:

Image

The model with FD and open doors is aprox. a 6Mo 3DS... I will do a release for test, and depending on feedback (on FPS), I will add or not more details.

Some shots... (colors are wrong)

Someone knows if there is a US flag where the arrow is pointing in pict 1 on all shuttles?

This is very impressive.

If only Celestia could render shadows ... O well ...

Tx again guys, but I still don't have the response to my question about the flag... I need to end the antenna and a few little things, then fix all smoothings and colors, then release...

I'm not sure if its on all of the shuttles or not ... I think it may be on discovery though, take a look at this recent photo:

While its hard to see, it seems that a few stripes are poking out from behind.

Tx, but I'm still wondering for others shuttles...

What a stange shot!! There is a support for Canadarm on the right side of the payload 8O (at the left on the pict)...
