Daniel,

NASA has Web pages devoted to the ISS assembly progress. http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/station/assembly/index.html

The current shuttle flight is ISS assembly flight LF1.
The previous assembly flight was 11A.
That corresponds to MotherLode ISS download #12.

Don't forget to download the texture pack, too.

None of the Motherlode ISS Addons contain appropriate folders, so you'll have to create them yourself and put the .SSC, .3DS and .BMP files in the right ones.

That may be my problem! Can you tell me what folders you created and where please? It would help a ton since I got my ISS addons (the 13 stages + texture pack) from Motherload.

Daniel,

Please read the assembly site.

The ISS will never has as many modules as they originally planned. Several were cancelled, and there are only 19 or 20 shuttle flights planned before the shuttles are retired in 2010.

Siterath,

The models have to go in a subdirectory named /models/
The textures have to go in a sub-subdirectory named /textures/medres/
The SSC goes in the "root". This should be a directory with an appropriate name. e.g. ISS

/ISS/iss-11A.ssc
/ISS/models/iss-11A.3ds

/ISS/textures/medres/d_ring.bmp
/ISS/textures/medres/iss_dc.bmp
etc.

Hmmm ok I did...

/extras/addons/ISS/01ISS 1A.ssc
/extras/addons/ISS/models/iss_1A.3DS
/extras/addons/ISS/textures/medres/(all the images in the texture pack)

Now it still didn't work, it zooms in but nothing is there, and I tried using today's date, 12/04/98 and 8/26/2000 but it still didn't appear ....

I am screwing up royally it seems ... Thanks for the help so far though, much appreciated.

Anyway @Daniel

You said you want one without a shuttle attached, I was wondering if you had found one with a shuttle attached because I was looking for one of those as well. Thanks

Siterath,

Strange. #12 works fine for me.

[Edit]For #1 you have to specify a date to Celestia that's between the Beginning and Ending dates that are declared in 01ISS-1A.ssc.

i.e. between Noon on 20 Nov 1998 and Noon on 4 Dec 1998.

[/edit]

The ISS+Shuttle models were on bh's Web site, which is down until he finds a new service provider.

Regarding the ISS + Shuttle, I found those three, I just thought the site was down permanently. Thanks for that update ...

As for the ISS not showing up (which I could take to some other thread or PM if you prefer... I don't want to steal Daniel's thread) I got some errors, but I'm not sure if they are related ... Here is what I got (the list goes on, but they are all the same 'type' of error)

Image

And its still not showing up and I am/was still testing with stage 1

Thanks again

Those error messages are because there are planets in exoplanets.ssc which orbit stars that aren't in stars.dat.

Celestia v1.4.0 prereleases fix that problem.

Note my edit above: you need to set Celestia to a date when the initial ISS configuration existed.
Or you can just delete the Beginning and Ending directives from the .SSC file.

well I had on other occasions set the date to December 4 1998 and August 25 and 26 2000 ... that one was just the modern date when I took the shot of the errors... But looking at the file I see what may be wrong ... I'll test again

Ohhh and the 13th stage (complete) has no SSC file ... what do I do on that one? Use the ISS that came with Celestia?

2000 can't work with #1 as it is. It has to be 1998, and it has to be before Noon on Dec 4 UTC. If you were testing in the evening (relative to UTC) and didn't change the time field, then you wouldn't see it.

[Edit]Personally, I'd use the same SSC file for all of them, except for the name of the model. That way you can watch the ISS grow over the years without having to change your viewpoint.[/edit]

Yeah when I opened the SSC I saw the dates (since the dates in the readme are next to French, I was reading the wrong dates lol) and got #1 to work, but #13 the complete stage, won't work... No SSC

So anyway I wrote an SSC for it and it did work after I did that ... so now they all should work ... thank you so much for your help, and if you find a copy of the ISS with the shuttle attached, please let me know I'd love to get it

There is a model on the Motherlode of the completed ISS (not the current ISS) with Endeavour docked. It isn't a valid Addon, though. The model and textures need to be put in separate directories and a .SSC file created.

Really? I didn't see that file on motherlode when I was looking .. I saw one with MIR though ... When you say seperate directories do you mean like the way we did above for those ISS files? And as for an SSC, I can do those now :P

Sorry...I seem to have lost my hosting at the wrong time. There is a seperate zip file for ISS sscs - 'iss_sscs.zip' which may be available somewhere!

Sorry for all the trouble!

"ISS with Endeavour" is immediately above "MIR with Discovery."

yes.

Bob,

Yup, that's always the way it is!

Sods law strikes again...I'm looking for a reasonable web hosting package so I get get these up as well as my own business package...any pointers here? I'm uk based but it will be full of large (graphic) files.

I'm mainly doing photography now but also some graphic art for print so I need to be able to show things off a bit.
