milky way problem

ok i check everything but no go i can barly see my milky way galaxy when i zoom out the only way i can find it is the star DAT that i downloaded can someone give me a hint on what im doing wrong

by the way love this program keep up the good work

Can you see the Milky Way at all? Are galaxies enabled in the features menu? Also, what version of Celestia are you using? If you are using the new version by dirkpitt - you may have to "turn up" galaxies... using the parentheticals.

Celestia does draw galaxies rather dim. However, if you're having a lot of trouble even seeing them, then you need to calibrate your CRT's brightness and contrast. If your system can play DVDs, you should consider using one of the video calibration discs, like "Avia Guide to Home Theater."
