The ultimate starship ;-)

I couldn't resist !

Here's the ultimate starship, the "creation temple". Science and art unified !

If you want to play with it, here's a download link :

The 6 letters on the cube are the fundamental constants of physics :

h (bar) is Planck's constant from quantum mechanics,
k(B) is Boltzman's constant, from thermodynamics,
alpha is the electromagnetism coupling constant (or the electron's charge, if you prefer),
G is the gravitational constant,
c(-1) is the (reversed) speed of light in vacuo, from relativity theory,
Lambda is the cosmological constant, from General relativity.

All those constants are very small numbers, in human's natural units.

I'm working on a much improved temple, with many symbolic objects placed at strategic points, all in relation to the physical constants.
Stay tunned ! :-)

I've finished the Cosmic Temple. Here are some screen captures, in case someone here is interested in this fantasy. All objects do have a signification and are linked together in a way or another. Yours to explore and interpret for your amusement.

Here's a link to the updated addon, for your pleasure. Take note : this addon may slow down Celestia considerably. You must have a powerfull video card to have a descent frame rate.

I'll appreciate any feedback, positive or negative, on this (nerdish ?) fantasy addon. How is it running, on your computer ? How many FPS do you get ? Any problem of mesh rendering ?

Now, here's the last one. Click on the icons below for some screenshots. Celestia is doing a very nice job here. Light reflection on the water and on the metallic pieces is pretty good, IMO.

I've just updated my "Cosmic Temple". Here's a link to the CMOD version of the model, and a preview :

http://nho.ohn.free.fr/celestia/Cham/CosmicTemple.zip

Beware, frame rate will be very low with this model, because of the very high number of polygons and textures.

And here we go again. Here's the ultimate flying saucer ;-)

If there's any interest, I'll give a link to the model, but I guess nobody is interested in those fantasies anyway.

Ooooh! I really like the saucer. Wouldn't mind a link to that. My girlfriend's buddhist, so I'm sure she'd like it. Not to mention it looks like it would run better on my machine than the temple. Great work!

Your girlfriend's really a buddhist ? Then it's a good reason to put that link :

I finished another cosmic temple today. I think this one is better than all the others, but it still put Celestia on its knees. It has a much stronger mystic feel. Here's a preview to click on :

Well, I believed that this temple was finished, but nope. I had to add few details :

Image Image

The only thing which is bothering me is the carpet. I want a better texture on it, but I'm having some mapping problems. I found tons of high resolution pictures of asiatic and persian rugs, but it's very hard to make a proper tile of their texture. Something like this one (click on the icon to get a better look) :
