Tip to convert dates (epoch) to make add-ons

You can use Excel.
You type the date and then you right click and select "Format cells"
Switching to "general" might result in Julian Epoch.

Hi ar81,

you don't have to use julian dates in the addons. You can use the normal format that you use everyday.
There are examples of that flying around and there should be an explanation in the SSC manual.

On OSX, you can also use this little utility i made: http://celestiaproject.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7337 - easier than launching Exel.

... If you are on pre-Tiger, or use Win/Linux, this thing may be used like a local web page. Else, it goes into your widgets panel.
