newbie - how can I use a new earth texture from an add-on?

Hi,

I downloaded Celestia yesterday and I am completely excited about it.

Today I downloaded an add-on for Earth. It is a ppn-file.

- How can I use this to see Earth nicer in Celestia?

I copied the file ito the hire-folder and I pressed shift-r, but the appereance of Earth does not change.

Thank you very much for helping!

Hello rymd,

Would you be able to show us the site, or a link for your add-on, so we can tell you if this 'ppn' file is compatible with Celestia ?

regards,
TERRIER

PS
Have you been to the motherlode site yet ?
There are enough Celestia goodies there, to keep you busy for months !

Hello Dominik and Terrier,

thank you for your answers!

I got the textures from motherlode. Now, I managed to see them. I renamed it to earth.ppn and copied it to the hires-folder. Now, I can see the texture, when I use a better texture-surface.
