Bigger models of Deimos and Phobos

I have made new models and textures of both Deimos and Phobos for Celestia v 1.3.2pre1.

I had lots of help from Grant to try to get them aligned correctly,(the models are the previous ones with a few more faces). You can get them here
http://www.geocities.com/jestrjestr/extras
If you want them aligned correctly in other versions you'll have to rotate them by 180 degrees horizontally, cheers Jestr

Does this mean you need the following orientation line in the ssc for viewing them correctly, if you're running a version earlier than 1.3.2pre1 ?;

Code: Select all

Orientation [ 180 0 1 0 ]

Do you need the mesh centre co-ords in your ssc too ?

What you need to do with these models in 1.3.1 is delete the line

Code: Select all

Orientation [ 180 0 1 0 ]
These models don't need the extra twist written into the ssc, the way the old models did - so you're effectively undoing a 180 rotation, rather than adding one. Same end result.

The MeshCenters need changed whichever version of Celestia you're using, 1.3.1 or 1.3.2.
For the Deimos model, change MeshCenter to

Code: Select all

MeshCenter [ 0.336 -0.290 -0.357 ]
For Phobos use

Code: Select all

MeshCenter [-0.186 -0.069 -0.179 ]

Sorry to anyone who has downloaded my new models of Deimos and Phobos ,but Grant has pointed out a small error in the way I have mapped their textures onto the models. This has now been corrected and you can get the newer improved models from the above address (same file name I'm afraid). Also there are new models for Amalthea and Thebe on the same page.Amalthea has also been corrected by Grant so if anybody grabbed it earlier today I'd suggest doing it again.Hope you like them ,thanks for all the encouragement here-Jestr

Thank you for the info Grant, i have changed to match.

Also Jestr did you ever remake your mimas model to except any texture, :?:
I know you did this with others, but not sure about your mimas model.
At the momen i have had to hex edit your mimas model to except a dds texture.
