NASA lifting body models

Does anyone know where I could find some good 3ds models of Nasa lifting bodies or other experimental craft?

'SpaceIsland Group' had one I think, but the link has gone. It doesn't matter about the scale...just the configuration.

Regards...bh.

Here's a link to some info about NASA's lifting body experiments;

http://www.astronautix.com/project/nasgbody.htm

I'm not very familiar with them, but I am surprised that a film of a famous test crash incident involving one of these lifting bodies (M2-F2) was used in the opening credits to the classic 1970's TV series 'The 6 Million Dollar Man'......
....."Steve Austin, a man barely alive....We have the technology, we can rebuild him" and all that!

bh,

It looks like a design based on the Apollo Command Module might be getting serious consideration, too, for various reasons. Speed of implementation is not least among them, although it looks like it'd still be a 5 year project :(

Presumably it wouldn't be too hard to repurpose one of the existing Apollo models.

Added later:
here's a link to the congressional report on the Apollo CRV/CTV study done in March: http://klabs.org/richcontent/Reports/NASA_Reports/apollo_hw_crv_ctv.htm

Added yet later:
Unfortunately, as I suspect others already knew, the X-38 CRV project was cancelled last year because of the cost. Here's one of the pages mentioning that: http://www.fas.org/spp/guide/usa/launch/x-38.htm
:(

Thanks Selden...no wonder it's called 'OLD'!

You've read my thoughts on this matter!

bh,

Hopefully you're aware of the "plans" for the OSP (Orbital Space Plane) and the X-37. See http://www.ospnews.com/ospx37.html

Selden...many thanks for these links. I think it's beyond my meagre modelling skills for the moment!!...Definatley something to go on though. We need something other than the shuttle to go with the ISS complete model I think.
