Lunar lander models- Luna 9 (U.S.S.R)

Post #1by JackHiggins » 28.05.2003, 23:58

Hey all

Following up my huge ssc for nearly every manmade object on the moon, here's my first lander model to add into it. (some people may have noticed that the ssc referred to "luna9.3ds"- ever wonder why...?! )

I've actually had this 95% finished for a good while, but a few days ago I discovered how to make spheres look much better... (Learn something new every day...!)

Anyway, download from my site http://homepage.eircom.net/~jackhiggins/celestia/ but here are 2 quick screenshots...

This is how Luna 9 would have seen the eclipse a few weeks back- (if it hadn't stopped working 40 years ago...)

Yet more classic soviet era spacecraft coming soon... (But not too soon)

I used Bryce 3D, but there are other terrain modellers out there.
It would be great if you could export the whole scene as a 3ds with the textures and then bring it into Celestia!
