Planet X - Nibiru update for celestia has been released.
Planet X is a hypothetical/fictional planet orbiting our sun a.k.a the 12th planet, this add-on is based on ancient scriptures and much internet data from different sources. Including: Zacheria Sitschins books, Nasa, newspapers and numerous websites. The planet orbits the sun between mars and jupiter and has a long ecliptical orbit, it is generally thought to be a brown dwarf with several moons but there are other theories aswell. The planet is believed to bring destruction to mankind somewere around 2012 when it passes through the ecliptic plane every 3600 years being responsable for the destruction of atlantis, the extinction of the dinosaurs, the great flood etc, somewere in the past it collided with a hypothetical planet called tiamat wich was believed to orbit the sun between mars and jupiter thus creating the asteroid belt. It is also believed that Nibiru is the homeworld of the annunaki, the gods who from heaven to earth came. The annunaki supposedly created humanity with dna experiments.

Re: RELEASE: Planet X - Nibiru v1
I know that somebody made addon inspired by 2012 deadly prophecy, Personally i still thinking about this. Maybe something will be happen or maybe not.
But strange is how many 2012 propheces are exist and how many people talking about this.
Addon is great, thx.

Ah, not this again. I had a co-worker, a fairly intelligent guy who thinks this tripe is real. I tried to explain that the simple laws of orbital mechanics rule out this thing being there. Besides if it were there and it was going to be in the inner solar system by 2012 we should already being it as bright as day. I can't believe anyone with half a mind can believe this garbage. cool textures though. Just bad subject matter.

I am officially a retired member.
I might answer a PM or a post if its relevant to something.
Ah, never say never!!
Past texture releases, Hmm let me think about it
Thanks for your understanding.

Hi Don,
Thanks for your reply.
I have to say that while making this add-on and reading some stuf about it allot is unclear in this prophecy.
For starters what is totally unclear is what celestial body is actually called nibiru? Is it the brown dwarf star or is it the moon/planet orbiting it were the annunaki supposedly lived?
Another is were the orbit of the brown dwarf is supposed to be. If it closest approach was 60 AU beyond pluto as some state, then it would have not been visible from earth like the desciptions we see in old documents i noticed in celestia. If one puts de brown dwarf in the orbit i made then the old scriptures fit the picture better. But not entirely. I found that a view of the brown dwarf and the sun as seen from one of the brown dwarf star moons (lets say the annunaki planet) looks allot more like than what they describe it to look from earth in the old texts. While really thinking about it allot of stuf dont ad up, atleast from what you can find as internet information. I dont know about orbital mechanics that much, so i wouldnt know if its really possible or not. To come back to what you were saying that one has to see it by now if it went into our solarsystem, is that it comes from a way south point and is only visible now from the southpole right now according to internet texts, as it kinda does in my add-on. :-/ Nasa is building the SPT telescope on the southpole now (to observe nibiru according to internet) btw wich is a strange coincidence. Personally i dont think many people actually believe it, but i do believe somehow its some deep desired wish from humanity to find the answers to the questions, were did we came from and if we are alone in the universe, i believe thats the main thing fuelling this prophecy. The story of annunaki coming here and cloning us to be workers for them seems to me more or atleast as reasonable than most religious explanations on how we came to be on this planet. Id like to look at this ad-on not as a real or fictional add-on but as a real fictional add-on, since so much has been written about it.
Again thanks for your reply

Just a gentle reminder: discussions about religous beliefs are not allowed on the Celestia Web forum. People get too easily upset in such discussions with no beneficial result. In other words, flamewars are grounds for banning.

All the religious hoopla aside, I think you've done a nice job of the addon... some pretty spiffy textures, and I rather like the idea that you've collected the data from the multiple sources (credible or not) and worked them into something interesting to look at and ponder about. If I've stolen this statement from someone here I apologize, it's something I find very sound - and that is: Good science keeps an open mind to all things.

In that case you should probably ban all discussion of football (as that's a religion in many counties). .... although so far the discussion has on the whole been surprisingly friendly!selden wrote:Just a gentle reminder: discussions about religous beliefs are not allowed on the Celestia Web forum. As I have tried to tell you, neither. It's:
Sol.
Nothing else. No Nemesis, no Planet X. One sun: Sol.
