We need to make a new neutron star texture based on this! Here's my existing one:
Neutron Star's surface has been mapped!

The neutron star' surface wasn't "mapped" - what you see in the article is an artist's impression.
Literally all they did was detect two bright areas - astronomy articles are somewhat clickbait.
Rats...
I recommend setting your reply to a spoiler (which you can do in the edit box if you didn't know) like what I did to my quoting of you for future readers.

But why do we need to make fyr02's reply a spoiler?

As a general rule pop-sci outlets will always skew the science in favor of sensationalism and clickbait. Always, and I cannot stress this enough, always go to the original source (paper, publication, etc) for a more complete, accurate understanding of what is being reported.
Not only is there no justification to do this, actively hiding the quote you're responding to does not make a lot of sense.Joey P. wrote:I recommend setting your reply to a spoiler (which you can do in the edit box if you didn't know) like what I did to my quoting of you for future readers.
