I want some sort of this configuration for me until the end of 2011.
But I can?t afford a Core i7 Sandy Bridge.I will go with a Core i5.
While CAP Team's computer sounds good, I think his RAM is way too small for a CPU with so many cores. If each unit doesn't have enough memory for acting independently at ease, I would guess that a (nominally less powerful) CPU with fewer cores does a comparably good job.
So like in case of ChrisL's machine, an i7 should be able to cooperate with 12GB of good quality RAM (instead of only 4GB)!
A powerful machine like the one of CAP Team should be devoted to specific CPU-intensive tasks, in order to be sufficiently challenged! Such tasks should definitely be more challenging than compiling Celestia at times.

Anyway, the graphics power is great and rather independent of the CPU memory issue.
