Are you placing each star one by one? That'll take a while. :)

HIP 600100
Abs mag: -8,92
Luminosity: 317,000 L_Sol
Class: L
Radius 88,000 R_Sol

How many L-type stars do you know are like this?

Kidding aside, you might want to increase the absolute magnitude of some of your stars. You're getting stars that are unrealistically enormous and luminous, probably based on rather low absolute magnitude values. Your .stc file may give the value as absmag or appmag, either is usable but the latter requires one to correct for distance. A star with an apparent magnitude of 6.0 at 10 light years away will be much dimmer and smaller than a 6.0 magnitude star in, say, another galaxy.
Current Setup:
Windows 7 64 bit. Celestia 1.6.0.
AMD Athlon Processor, 1.6 Ghz, 3 Gb RAM
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics
