Alternative star generator?

Post #1by dalmatian_fanatic » 28.09.2009, 17:39

Hi everyone. I am just wondering if there is an alternative star cluster generator besides Rassilions Globular cluster generator? I did not realize until my latest upload at the ML got a comment about this....that the generator produces a gap in the center of massive star clusters that is plainly visible when the magnitude limit is turned up all the way.

I would appreciate any links to any other type of star generators that may be out there, thanks! :D

AstroSynthesis seems to include a generator. It's not free though. A google search will find it for you.

SimClust is free, but it requires a background in astrophysics.and related fields.

The way I get around that gap is I produce more than one cluster where their centers are couple of hundred light years apart. The overlap will cover the gap.

Thanks for the tips...unfortunately i dont have the brains for the generator selden mentioned.......you really cant notice the gaps unless the magnitude setting is all the way up. And im going to keep reikos tips in mind as well! Im going to keep the generator and keep producing addons.....ill just be more wise about the gaps this time! :D
