I think it would be better to place this on the left or the right or the chart OR add the stat to each label (below each square)...

I agree. I already placed it to the left. It feels "unbalanced" to the right. Under each label, it wont work unless I specify a % for each sub-class (E0, E2, etc), which is inapropriate (way too precise).

Cham, you think to add more stuff or you have a final version ready?

Well, the only details which remains to be corrected are the populations %. Currently, the % used are from Celestia's database, without taking into account the "z" factor (i.e. distance ~ time in the past). Since the galaxies are evolving through time, the numbers shown are misleading. I need the % of today, not just the global % taken from the database.

I've edited the first message to publish the final addon.

Cham:
Really nice add-on. It will help me in my classes. In fact, I can envision a short lesson plan already, whereby I display the classification, then ask my students to locate several other galaxies that fit into each of the classes. They would have to visit some of Celestia's galaxies looking at shapes. If I work out a nice lesson, I'll post a zip file of it here or in the forum education section.
Thanks again for your great work

Re: NEW addon : Hubble's classification chart in Celestia
I added a small modification to my Hubble layer, to show some of the Milky Way structure (the small yellow disk shows the position of Sol) :
Same, with a "cosmic" graticule layer turned ON :
I'm not sure yet of the position of the double-arrow.
It's really fun to place arrows in space, within layers, using the new 1.6.0 capabilities.
This gives me the idea to point to several "famous" galaxies, using arrows. I'm not sure I know how to orient the arrows in the proper way, though. The markers are certainly the best way to do this. Hmmm, structures in the sky ...
