Re: New : Countries of the world
You can see this anywhere, look, the arrows show where the locs should be (from the top they seems to be centered, not anymore at low altitude...). The odd is that with other locs files, a 0 altitude is just fine... Bug from my side or not?

Apparently, this is a bug on your side. I just tried a similar view as yours and I don't have any labels problem. All my country labels are well grounded at 0.

What is strange is that your tectonic locs file is just ok... Pfff I begin to be really bothered by all those little issues here and there!

Just FYI...Cham wrote:Apparently, this is a bug on your side. I just tried a similar view as yours and I don't have any labels problem. All my country labels are well grounded at 0.
I also have no such problems on my machine using 1.5.1 or SVN 4391.

Re: New : Countries of the world
ElChristou,
have you edited the locs file in some way ? Did you opened and saved it as an UTF-8 file ?
You're probably using the French version (as myself), and if you changed something in it, it MUST be opened and saved as UTF-8, because of all the accents... (same thing for any CELX script with accents, by the way).

Yes, but I've done the same with the plates locations and had no problem.
Anyway, as it's on my side only, let's forgot the topic, I'll search and fix by myself.

Re: New : Countries of the world
I suggest that you test the original files again (without any modification). Are you still experiencing the problem ?

I'll test a bit later because right now I'm bit lost in some image manipulation problems and need to concentrate. I'll tell you a bit later...

It's awesome how those borders can match almost perfectly a high res map!

There is some discrepancies here and there but the overall is really, really nice...

Freaking !
Maybe I should go into this high res madness too
What's the texture resolution ? 32K ? 64K ?

Re: New : Countries of the world
I downloaded and installed this addon yesterday, but this addon is not properly aligned with the Earth map.
It is about right (not exactly) if I put a RotationOffset of 190.
Am I doing something wrong?
The addon itself looks great! Good work!

Then yes, there's something wrong with your installation. The addon should be aligned properly automatically.

Re: New : Countries of the world
After some experimentations, I think it's preferable to change the Type used in the countries location file. I suggest to use Type "TA" (Terra) instead of "XX" (others). This way, we could toggle ON/OFF separately the countries labels and the tectonic plates labels (Type "XX"). And "Terra" is certainly more consistent with "countries" since it's about lands and islands. Also, turning ON the "Terra" labels will show the continents names at the same time as the countries name (with a different color), and this is making more logical sense to me.
