Bumps normals and VTs

ive just got a new computer and i can now use bumps normals specs etc but i also want them as a VT .
ive been making some 8k VTs of earth and moon and the earth and clouds work but bumpmaps dont i have put them in the hires folder as earth.ctx earth-clouds.ctx and earthbump.ctx and have the folders to match bumps show up as normal textures in lores and medres folders.
why is it not allowing bumpmap VTs to work
On the the other hand how do i install normal maps as normal textures and as a VT
