Flexify for generating cylindrical maps from images:

Here's a sample planet created with LunarCell:
The color map, bump map, and cloud map were all generated with LunarCell. You can also render the planets within the plugin, but that's not the interesting part if you're creating world for Celestia. Here's the add-on with three textures and a .ssc file for the fictional planet Pharos, which orbits 82 Eridani:
