Thanks to Ortolan for pointing the way to Flaming Pear's site . . . They've got some very useful PhotoShop plugins for planet creation.

Flexify for generating cylindrical maps from images:

Here's a sample planet created with LunarCell:

The color map, bump map, and cloud map were all generated with LunarCell. You can also render the planets within the plugin, but that's not the interesting part if you're creating world for Celestia. Here's the add-on with three textures and a .ssc file for the fictional planet Pharos, which orbits 82 Eridani:

Bah Ill stick with making em myself...damn bots are taking over hehe...but that cylinder mapper will definately be the hot tip...Kudos chris!
I'm trying to teach the cavemen how to play scrabble, its uphill work. The only word they know is Uhh and they dont know how to spell it!

Yes, the plugin is useful. I tested it creating some planet textures (A gas giant and an earth-like planet)

And it can make textures with any resolution and good quality.
The universe contains, matter and energy,
stars and planets, and earth's technology.

You know I take that back chris...I wont use anything else now for specturals...

I got a system I'll be releasing soon...LunarCell is now a part of my cant live without list :mrgreen:
