I have a rather large bitmap of the Netherlands (sorry can't share it ) ,
and I want to show it in celestia ofcourse ,
the obvious way to do so is create a VT .
I programmed my own code to cut the big bitmap into small tiles.
Now the problem is that I have to insert these tiles into a certain level
of an existing VT (for instance the one from JESTR ).
How do I go about in generating the tiles start - indexes,
Celestia must know where my tiles are located at the earth's surface.
I didn't find any clue's in Fridgers script nor in the VT's faq.
I think Fridgers script assumes that the VT 's arecoverng the
whole earth and not a small part of it .

Dear rra,
There is a tile positioning generator by Jens Meyer which may be what you need, you put in the level you want to place the tiles at, and the long lat, and it will produce the appropriate file name. If you put them into an existing level with a tile already there, obviously it will overwrite it , so change the names of your originals if you want to keep them. The tiles would have to be dds, or I think you have to do a bit of editing of the ctx file to other than dds hope this helps .
