hi ppl

i would lik to know what difference there are between DXT1, DXT1( 1BIT ALPHA) AND DXT3(EXPLICIT ALPHA)

WHAT FORMAT IS THE BEST?????

I'd go for DXT3 most of the time.I think DXT1 has a more limited pallet because it always seem to be a noticeable drop in quality.Jestr

dxt1b1 does not have a common sensefull usage in celestia.
dxt1 is the choice if you don't have alpha layers inherited.
dxt3 is the choice for textures with inherited alpha layer.

There is more of a quality issue with the question if creating textures with or without mipmaps.
