Since I can't find a good server (faster then jestr ftp ) to download a 32k or 64k VT for the earth, I was thinking, I'll make one myself. But which file of the nassa ftp of 'blue marble' should I download for just the earthmap without clouds and stuff, I have a bandwith limit so I can't just download everything :) Anyone? :)

Uhm, I meant this ftp server :)
ftp://mitch.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/stockli/bluemarble/

But it seams I should download one of those topo files? Jestr? You made that 64k map :)

It depends what texture you want - there are a few different options
1.Shaded Earth texture-MOD09A1.E.interpol.cyl.retouched.topo.3X21600X21600.gz and
MOD09A1.W.interpol.cyl.retouched.topo.3X21600x21600.gz
2.Flat Earth texture -
MOD09A1.E.interpol.cyl.retouched.3x21600x21600.gz and
MOD09A1.W.interpol.cyl.retouched.3x21600x21600.gz
3.Shaded Earth texture + Ocean depths -
MOD09A1.E.interpol.cyl.retouched.topo.bathymetry.3x21600x21600.gz and
MOD09A1.W.interpol.cyl.retouched.topo.bathymetry.3x21600x21600.gz
I'd suggest starting with the first of these-when you unzip you must rename the file extension to RAW format then you should be able to open it in Photoshop or similar,All the best Jestr

Thanks! I'm downloading the first two right now, about 2:30 hours left :) And then lets slice some pieces ;) One little question  For making level 0 I should first resize the image to 1024x512? and cut it in two pieces, level 1 2048x1024, level 2 4048x2048, level 3 8196x4048 etc.? But then, If I would like to make like 128k tile for my country, how would I know which tile it is? :)

Yes you must resize the texture for every level. There is a useful tool here
http://www.shatters.net/~jim/files/VT-tile-calculator_2.zip
for calculating tile numbers/position,I havent used it so I dont know what its like to use,any other problems let me know, see also Bob Hegwoods website for an introduction to Virtual Textures (part of Celestia Webring),Jestr

Hmm, photoshop 7 can't handle images larger then 30.000x30.000 pixels, so how could I attach those 2 images of 21.600x21.600 each? Or did you just left them as 2 sepperate files? And with gimp/linux it takes ages to just look at those pictures...

I used them to make a Virtual texture which means chopping them up smaller so it didnt matter,Jestr
