I think you are out of luck on this one. As far as I know I am the only one to make an Earth texture showing the Earth at an earlier time. The one made will take you back to the ice age but no farther. I was toying with the idea of making a texture back to the K/T extinction period but I just haven't been motivated to do it. You could always try and make your own. Making a texture really isn't that hard as long as you have the software tools to do it.
Good luck with your search.

You might want to take a look at the maps at http://www.scotese.com/Default.htm

They're all copyrighted, so they can't be redistributed, but they are available for personal use.

I found some maps here http://jan.ucc.nau.edu/~rcb7/RCB.html at this page http://jan.ucc.nau.edu/~rcb7/rect_globe.html
They need to be resized. Maybe I could make a script for people who download and resize the maps as well as giving them the ssc file.

Nice maps - thanks for the link, Brendan. First time I've seen these in a simple cylindrical projection.

cub,

there's not much that I can to for you, but to provide you with two reprojected maps of the pangean times. They where both made from originals at Scoteses website, that selden already mentioned above. They are 1k textures and can be directly included into Celestia. Don't expect them to be more than drafts, and please note that I haven't worked on them, exept for reprojecting.

The first shows the continents and the approximate coastlines (at 237 Ma):

The second one gives the additionally needed paleoclimatic data (at 220 Ma):

Please recognize that it was very aride at certain times. In late triassic the climatic situation changed to more tropic and subtropic areas.

------------------------

Creating a 4k or 8k paleogeographic map of pangea and other times is an idea that spins around in my head for some time now. I'm currently still collecting data. There are several basics needed for creating a good map:

- Positions of the continents.
- Coastlines/Shelfs
- Climatic situations
- Sealevel at that time
- Overall temperature at that time
- Rock foldings and montaineous areas
- Rivers and lakes aren't provided for these times, so the have to be purely fictional

I thought I could contact one of the texture wizards then, to create such a map in combined work (I think I could do it alone, but it would be hard work for me, and too few spare time to really see it worked out). Well, but as you see from Dons post above, there seems to be little motivation on that thread. So I'll keep collecting data and gonna stand by ;)

----------------------------

Following the links that Brendan provided, I must say, that these are the best paleogeographic maps I've ever seen. I didn't know them before. Surely worth beeing added to the drafts package. And for sure a good starting point. Well, I would encourage everybody interested in this thread to contribute to get some maps worked out.

Mhahahahaha!
Do you have any idea what I can do with these great rectangular projections. 8O
I now have the things I need for some serious texture making. Thanks for the info guys. I don't think I would have found these by myself.
So we will just have to see what I can come up with. :)
