Where is John Villet?He disappeared and his homepage is always offline.I can?t find VT Earth textures.In Jens site,there are almost all Earth Virtual Texture maps(normalmap,cloudmap,specularmap,nightmap),but the main Earth texture is lacking,and I haven?t found it anywhere else.Can someone help me?

Remember that John Van Vliet's site is not permanent : site hours are approx. 11am to 3am Est.

John wrote a post in the Users forum on the 2nd of November regarding his problems with Comcast. I think he will be back up and running soon.

I am in Brazil.Here is two hours more than EST,since we are in daylight saving time.Well,now is 16:44.Here must be 14:44.Since Jonhs site works from 11 am to 3 am,it have to be working,but it isn?t.Jonhs site don?t work from 3 am to 11 am,this is from 5 am to 1 pm,in local time.But now is almost 5 pm.Why Jonhs site isn?t working?

All we can do is pray. It seems people have trouble with web space. I'm gonna talk to the head of the Astronomy and Physics depts. up @ UMBC and see if I can get them hooked on Celestia enough to open up a server to host these big textures or something. It's only a pipe dream, but it's a damn shame these high-res textures people bust their butts on aren't readily available. I'll see what I can do.
