multiple virtual textures

Can anyone explain how to get multiple virtual textures to work in Celestia-I tried to get a virtual bump texture of the Moon working by changing BumpMap line to "MoonBump.ctx" in my Moon virtual texture ssc but it doesn't seem to work. All the best Jestr

Yes,the same happens to me.I downloaded all Johns CTX Earth textures, but when I finished,The Earth become a dark grey orb with the lights of the continents in green.
My Celestia is 1.3.0.
I returned to my previous textures

Danielj:

Virtual textures are supported with 1.3.1 pre 9, but not earlier releases such as 1.3.0.

Hi danielj
they all work fine in 1.3.1 pre9 so you will have to upgrade
and see the readme .txt in each zip

So CTX are virtual textures?Hum...I didn?t know.Anyway,I am not in a hurry.I can wait for the final version of Celestia 1.3.1.Do you have any idea when it will be launched? Is Celestia 1.3.1 pre9 the last test version? And how could I install a new version without having 2 Celestias in the computer?
A few months before,I installed the Celestia 1.3.1 pre 6,but the Celestia 1.3.0 and this were running together!

Daniel,

There are several new features in Celestia's source code on SourceForge that are not in pre9. Chris may decide to create another test version before finalizing it.

I have at least 10 versions of Celestia on my system. When I have a problem I need to be able to compare what happens with the newest version and with older versions. This is so I can find out if it's something I did wrong or if it's a bug in Celestia. This may not matter to you.

However, you should always keep your old version and install the new version of Celestia in its own separate directory. This is for at least two reasons:
(1) overwriting the old version with the new version in the same directory often causes problems. Often many of the files are incompatible or you may have made changes to your copy of solarsys.ssc
(2) there may be bugs in the new version that cause you problems (For example. bumpmaps don't work in v1.3.0 final).

Delete the old one only after you have moved over all your addons and are happy with the new version.

Each version of Celestia includes the removal program UNINS000.EXE

Does this help?

There will be one more prerelease version of Celestia 1.3.1, with some virtual texture improvements, a new variation of the center command, and a log console.
