Hi folks, i write from Chile. Im a big old fan to celestia and im very thankfull for all your efforts with this project.
I was wondering from where did you guys obtain your basic Earth textures. Maybe NASA? Can any of you give me some URL for me to check? Im searching for full detail textures for me to "see" them in celestia, but 32k is not enough for me...

As far as I know, the highest resolution image from earth is bluemarble with 43200x21600, but due to the constraints for virtual textures (tiles must be 2^n) the highest actually available is 32kx16k.

You can get satellite images with higher resolution, but only for some parts of earth. Try http://www.visibleearth.nasa.gov/, or my favourite for (southern) Chile: http://visibleearth.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/viewrecord?11151
