Don, is the Sahara Desert in your unfinished 18000 BCE map the same size as it is today? There are caves in the Atlas Mountains (northern parts of the desert in Algeria) that show pictographs of primitive people hunting savanna animals. Apparently, in the ice age, a lot of the current Sahara was a grassy plain filled with animals, and the desert might have been a fraction of its current size. Just a thought, I'm sure you probably know already. I can't wait to see your work.

Yes it was one of the first things I did to make sure I was going in the right direction. Here are 2 shots of North Africa. the first from alsmost the same angle with my new 16k texture and the second from the 18000BCE texture.



Note: The colors are not final in the 18000BCE texture by a long shot. There is allot of work yet to be done. Also the texture is only 4k so the detail isn't quite as good as it could be.
