New 1k Hyperion map and other moon textures

Hi Grant,
I would help to add some missed textures to Celestia's base package. I've build two colored Hyperion textures. First texture based on a map from solarviews and the second was Phil Stooke one. The little embedded picture is a "true colour" image of Hyperion.
Tell me what you think. I prefer the first map.
Any suggestion are wellcome.
If you like one off my maps I will build a low and medres versions and a lok mask and send to you.
Bye Jens
p.s. I'd sent alredy a modified Amalthea model with colored map to Chris.

The texture on the right is a shaded releif map, and doesn't reflect what the surface actually looks like- so i agree the one on the left looks better!
Which spacecraft took the embedded image, do you know?

Jens:
We have just added grey-scale versions of both these textures to Celestia! Phil Stooke's shaded topo as the "Normal" and the photomosaic as the LOK - since overlay textures aren't working on 3ds objects yet, it's better to have two separate textures. (Also, although your leftmost image looks good from the angle shown, I imagine it's terrible when seen from behind, with various black unmapped areas evident.)
I tried hard to do what you've done, to colourize the grey-scales, but just made a hash of it. So, yes please, I think we should replace our grey textures with your colourized versions.
I've also just committed a slightly modified version of your Amalthea texture and 3ds to the CVS tree - the texture was still flipped vertically, to be compatible with Celestia's previous handling of 3ds objects, and the central meridian was wrong. I also added some additional yellow-green faculae to those you'd imported from Johnson's texture - the major crater on the leading hemisphere and the trailing rim of the crater Pan are quite evidently bright in Galileo images.
So thanks for producing these!
Grant

The image was acquired by the Voyager 2 spacecraft on August 25, 1981.

Jens:
I'll soon be gone for a couple of weeks - maybe you should send Chris a copy of your Hyperion textures, too, to be sure they get into the next Celestia release.

Good idea
Jens, please do send me these colored textures of Hyperion, and I'll include them in the base Celestia package.

Hi all,
Here is a shot from Proteus (with my new texture) and the only picture I found.

I will do that.

Hi all,
here is another texture I worked on. The shot shows Saturn's moon Iapetus compared with a real picture.
If you look carefully you can see that Iapetus is a bit differnt illuminated. Maybe that some orbital parameters are not correct in Celstia? But I'm not an expert if someone can check this.
I've build a package of the "highres" version of all these new textures.

Mike thanks, but I meant I found only one real picture.

Hi all,
Here is Saturns moon Janus with a new 1k texture and an additional model. The 3DS model is not part of Celestia base package. I don't know where I found it (somewhere in the forum) but Chris should add this and some other models to Celestia (Prometheus, Epimetheus, Adrastea, Metis, Thebe).
1k surface map, real picture, 0,5k topo map:

Hi all,
Here is one more satellite of Saturn. The surface map is 1k and the topography map 0,5k.
This is a close shot of Prometheus with Rhea in the background.
I hope that my website is next week up to date with all my new textures.

Hi all,
Here is also a new texture for Enceladus.
The 2k map can be found on my homepage.
