Here are some results...




These pics were taken with a 16k earth texture as my graphics card refused to even try and load two 32k textures at once. It only allowed one or the other.
Also i think the normal map is inverted. I used the globe data and pixels windows version of nm16 by chris. I couldnt find a way to renormalise the map after resizing either which takes away some of the detail.
There is also a big join line in the normal map which is quite unsightly.
I may fix these on a second attempt but i dont know if its worth it. it takes a good few hours to assemble.
I just thought people would like to see what the current limits on texture detail are close to considering the available data.
