i have a rather good " Shape from shade" program but it is LINUX ONLY
there are no windows or mac binaries

but it might build from source using MinGW on Windows

that and ISIS3 is what i used for that example you posted

for ISIS 4 ( or the older ISIS3 )
you will need to be running RedHat 7 or CentOS7 or using a Mac

there are NO windows binaries for ISIS

here is the isis install guide
https://github.com/USGS-Astrogeology/ISIS3#installation

as to installing GNU MinGW
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mingw/files/
and GNUWin
https://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuwin32/files/

a VS code tutorial
https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/cpp/config-mingw

now the SFS program is a bit old so you will need to install the old compatibility GCC 3.3
it will not build with newer versions of GCC

for the SFS program it is on my G-drive
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1v_y_rmCC6p64F0GbpIaQckJZej-OZapt/view?usp=sharing

as for using it, that is a bit complex
first see
http://www.unmannedspaceflight.com/index.php?s=24 ... &pid=238305&st=20&#entry238305

keep in mind that "mini_sfs" ( the program) and gdal and gmic are all command line tools
-- no GUI --

i have windows only and its very annoying that programs i need are not windows programs

Added after 51 seconds:
possible to compile a window EXE like how ilikesaturn did with SFS?

Added after 31 seconds:
but without the use of CMD
that CMD stuff is too complex and confusing for me

Added after 3 minutes 39 seconds:
