Updates of my version respect to the Milky Way of the 1.61. version:

1. Resizing the center bar to connect to Perseus arm and Scutum-Centauros arm.
2. Increasing thickness of the Perseus and Scutum-Centaurus arms.
3. Attenuation of the Sagittarius and Norma arms.

New adjust based in star distribution and density points:

1. Magallanes gravity effect in branch of Sagittarius arm
2. Bridges and spikes between Perseus, Orion and Sagittarius arms
3. Branch of Centaurus arm

where does this data come from?

Hi Trapist, I've re-painted the entire galaxy based in the Robert Hurt´s map, the old version by default in Celestia the arms appear with same thickness but in the Rober Hurt versión the Perseus and Scutum-Centaurus arms are the most important arms of the galaxy.

Robert Hurt map is based in the survey (2008) of an extensive swath of the Milky Way was done with NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope, which detects infrared light. All objects that emit any heat can be seen in infrared, and this wavelength penetrates dust, so the new mosaic includes 800,000 snapshots and more than 110 million stars.

Using a star-counting method, Robert Benjamin of the University of Wisconsin and his colleagues noticed an increase in the number of stars in the direction of the Scutum-Centaurus Arm, but not in the direction of the Sagittarius and Norma arms. (The fourth arm, Perseus, wraps around the outer portion of our galaxy and cannot be seen in the new Spitzer images.) The two major arms, according to these findings, are the Scutum-Centaurus and Perseus arms.

The shape of the central bulge deduced from survey data from ESO’s VISTA telescope at the Paranal Observatory during 2008.

I´ve re-painted and edited the close relations between Perseus, Orion and Sagittarius arms (approximately a radius of 10000 light years around of the solar system) based in the obsevation of the Addon by Selden which shows positions of the 2617 pulsars in ATNF's current catalog, v1.56.

In the next image show an area that i´ve detected a small line of lower density between the spike of Perseus and Orion arm

The partial breaking to the bridge between Perseus arm and Orion arms in the last update that i´ve detected in the Addon by Selden which shows positions of the 2617 pulsars in ATNF's current catalog, v1.56 perhaps is related to the Radcliffe wave too:

This's a big improvement for the Milky Way model.
It even shows the darkness on it when you're in the arms, as if there was dust.
It totally beats the default model any day.
