A custom moon texture and more.

Hi, after trying a pair of moon's textures I decided to made a moon texture by myself.
The source was http://pdsmaps.wr.usgs.gov/PDS/public/explorer/html/moonlvls.htm.
After some retouches this was the result. I'm satisfied with the result. It's a 8k texture without bumpmap because my ATI Radeon 8500 card makes celestia crash if I have bumpmapping on:

I also made a specular map for Europa's galilean moon. I don't know how close to reality it is, but It seems nice to me:

And finally, as a gift, a nice night view of West Europe. :)

Regards from Spain. :)

Woah!, nice moon map orion nebula! It looks very detailed and without any kind of statical bumpmapping! congratulations :D

Your Europa specular texture reminds me to an experiment I did some time ago, but looks like that yours is inverted (scratches reflecting ice), take a look,

I would like to know how you got speculars working on the Radeon 8500 or did you capture this on another system with an NVidia card?

I might answer a PM or a post if its relevant to something.

Ah, never say never!!
Past texture releases, Hmm let me think about it

Thanks for your understanding.

Speculars works well on my Radeon 8500 but when I turn on bumpmap then celestia crashes. I'm using Catalyst 3.2 drivers and. I have activated Render:OpenGL Vertex Program.

Well I'll be darned. Looks like the folks that have ATI Radeon cards are a step closer to the NVidia users. But the bumpmaping issue is troublesome. I wonder whats causing that. Have you tried smaller bumpmaps.

Yes, I've tried 2k and 1k with no luck...
Besides, sometimes Celestia crashes ramdomly and I must reinstall it.

Nice moon! This looks just like the real thing.
