Hi Mike,

try this links. But some maps must be rotated (180°) for celestia.

So why don't you just rotate the bumpmap from my site? You can take the correct 1k texture you have as a guide. It's too easy to describe;-) using an image manipulation program like GIMP or Photoshop.

Indeed, my TextureFoundry site urgently needs a thorough refurnishing with rotated textures. Perhaps in 2 weeks or so I might have a little bit spare time to finally come around doing it. I also prepared a very nice custom color corrected 16k BM Earth texture, that I converted to DXT1c with my own new tool...It fits precisely to the appropriate 8k SpaceGraphics texture.

I was thinking to ask the same question about more detailed bumps...

Bumpmap from Solarviews works fine (4k).... thanks Fridger!

I have set up a site for some of the textures and bump maps I am playing with.

http://exp.arc.nasa.gov

In there I have some Mars and Earth elevation maps and conversions to bump maps by filtering and flattening. Would be great to produce from the raw data though. I think it is neat that you can give a hint of ocean bathymetry to the Earth. Mars maps need work.

Alan,

A few quibbles about the new Web site:

It'd be nice if the URL of the Galileo Web site were provided as a Web link instead of just text.

The comment about .cel and .jpg files is sure to be confusing, since the filetype isn't actually shown for any of the links. You might want to consider listing the name of each file in plain text after its Web link.

It'd also be nice if the file sizes were shown, too. That way people could decide whether or not it's worth waiting for the download before they actually start fetching the files.

Thanks!
