gironde, those textures are outdated, and not in 8k, they're in 4k. Plus, we don't need that Ceres map since we already know what it looks like.

The last post in this thread was over a year ago. Anyway, you can also look at Celestia Origin and Project TNO.

I prefer these (slightly outdated) artist's impressions of the dwarf planets:

Celestia 1.6.1.-ED comes with good detailed (but speculative) textures for these bodies (except 2007 OR10 and Haumea). It also comes with a good purple-gray texture for Quaoar that is likely on the motherlode. However, I think it would be nice if someone made textures based on the above illustrations.

Actually Celestia-ED has a texture for 2007 OR10/Gonggong too. But the Celestia Origin and Project TNO ones are better - and my small addon that adds Snowfall's ring texture for Haumea.

Yep, here. Also included in Celestia Origin, using the BlendTexture parameter to make it the right color.

Those pictures are low resolution and don't show many surface features, so I don't think good textures can be made from them. Celestia Origin and Project TNO have detailed 4K textures for these objects. I especially like Snowfall's Haumea textures (8K surface/bump and ~2K rings).

There's this rendering of Makemake that I found from a website:

The Makemake rendering actually looks good. But I've lost interest in downloading Celestia Origin.

Here? Nothing. In other threads? Necroposting, i.e. posting irrelevant things in threads from years ago.

I'm not trying to take over your addon, I'm just trying to make good faith improvements.
