The only problem is that this isn't what the Earth looks like. Sure the ocean ridges and trenches are cool but in reality they are hidden by 10,000 to 32,000 feet of water that is opaque. So it doesn't matter where you are you would never see this view from space unless the oceans boiled away. Now if you are using this as a teaching tool in a classroom its a great idea.
My other foible is that the land colors are way over saturated. The BlueMarble textures that these are based on are known to be color inhanced for maximum vegitation. The textures were put together with photos of the Earth when it was early summer in each hemesphere. As you know it can never be early summer in both hemisphers so that makes the BlueMarble textures technicaly inacurate. If a true model of Earth was made for Celestia we would need 8 textures to cover all the seasonal variations of vegitation and change the textures at the right time. I am toying with this idea right now so we shall se how it turns out. Other than that its a good atempt.
I am officially a retired member.
I might answer a PM or a post if its relevant to something.

Ah, never say never!!
Past texture releases, Hmm let me think about it

Thanks for your understanding.

I tend to agree with Don...The ocean floor does look this way but not from space...I would mask the oceans with a semi-transparent layer of sky-blue and reduce the saturation...Other than that it looks great ;)
I'm trying to teach the cavemen how to play scrabble, its uphill work. The only word they know is Uhh and they dont know how to spell it!
