Hi

Has anyone created flare textures for ver 1.5.1? Its just that I go to motherlode and get flares from the Sol page and put 1 of them in 1.5.1 but it doesn't work

If anyone has nice looking flares for 1.5.1 please just reply here with a link.

Support for flare textures was removed from Celestia v1.5.1.

It should be possible to define an STC object which includes a CMOD Mesh which uses a point sprite to do something similar. This would apply only to a specific star, though, not to all stars as the flares used to do.

If you had clicked on the magnifying glass for the flares add-on, you would have seen a note which describes how the flares are no longer of any use after 1.4.1. Mayhap I'll place that note on the main page so that all can see it before they download the flares. Just FYI...
