sorry if this is in the wrong place, i'm new to the forums.

i've had this program for a while now and i never looked at the screenshots on the main page. today i looked at them and saw that they were alot better that the actual program. when i zoom in on a planet it looses all its texture, it gets blurry, but on the screenshot it ooked great, in fact my planets textures look different that the screenshots, everything in the screenshots look better than my program. when i first got the program mars looked good and if i zoom in and look around the ground would be red along with the skie but now its just pale white with a white misty sky if i zoom in. i dont know if its a bug in the textures but what can i do to fix it or make the better?

Welcome!

This is the right place but perhaps not the good timing...
What you ask for is such a general topic than what you have to do before all is search, download and install... You have of course the Motherlode, but there is also plenty of place to look for better textures and models. Again do some search in the forum, visit the web sites of the members and you should being able to increase your default package without trouble!

For your Mars problem you must be more explicit with your hardware description, the Celestia version you used before and after changed etc...

You should check out the Celestial Matters Forum, Celestia Motherlode, and the Addon Forum here to see about getting some addons.

As far as everything looking "white" you provbably changed your render path without realizing. Type "Cntl / v" to change render paths or you can do it from the menu.

Also, make sure that you're using the highest available texture resolution by typing 'Shift + R' several times...
