duds26,
I could tell you how I do it, but I would have to kill you after, just joking of course.
In one word, Photoshop. I found an elevation map of the moon and chose the lowest regions for the seas and went from there. It?€™s fairly simply once you have it down.
As for a release on the Motherload, not going to happen. I like to host add-ons/textures on a site where I can change them on demand and not have to wait a week for the needed changes to take effect. I also like to be in charge of how they are displayed and presented. Not that I have a real problem with the Motherload site as a rule, it simply doesn't fit with what I need it to do.
One other note, I am not at all sure this will be released. It was an exercise in, can I do it and how will it look. But I may release it after I play with it some more. One never knows anything for sure.

Don:
Just a thought, but your terraformed moon could also be used as an early Earth (say ... 2 billion years ago). It shows lots of water, continents, etc. I am currently attending a conference about planetary evolution, and the speaker said that early Earth had LOTS of water at one point, with continental land not as extensive as it is today. Seems this texture could fit the bill.

Great job Don. Edwards
Just a tip. To make it more realistic, a worldhouse would be constructed to not let the atmosphere vanished into the space
What happen until now, one year later? Do you continue it or do you abandon it?
