I don??t know how to edit the solarsys.ssc.It didn??t work for me.Either I have the main rings visible or only the E and G rings.Never both of them...
I can??t understand this sort of thing:
"Sol" "Saturn" "*"
In other words,I don??t know how to put the rings "inside" Saturn.Should be the E and G rings considered as moons? If so,should I repeat the entire Saturn definition and only change the rings section?

I have updated the outer rings pack add-on to Version 2.
Changelog:
- reworked and desaturated the textures to look closer to Cassini's picts
- two choices: bright and dim (default) versions
- updated the ssc file which is also the FM
Go grab it there:

Photometric model and back-scattering code by Chris would be welcome

You shouldn't be editing solarsys.ssc.
The addon should be installed in your extras folder.

Hi all!
As promised, here is version 3 of the e-g rings add-on.
It includes 4 ring textures:
- Texture "eg-ring3.png": bright desaturated
- Texture "eg-ring4.png": dimmer version
- Texture "eg-ring5.png": default - a very dim version
- Texture "eg-ring6.png": a super-dim version for very high quality displays
As usual, unpack and drop it into your extras directory (remove first any previously installed pack)
Go grab it there:

Enjoy :)

Was going to ask some questions here about these rings, then I found...

...which resolved most of my questions.

Apparently there should be an associated podcast, but I couldn't find it.
