Moon Texture Installation problem

Post #1by henize70 » 10.12.2005, 17:04

MoonLevel4_p1.zip How to install?
Hi, I have downloaded the moon texture files 'MoonLevel4_p1.zip and MoonLevel4_p2.zip, created by John van Vliet. Each zips contains dozens of png-files. How must I install them? There is no information in the downloaded zip-file nor could I find information in the forums.
Thank you.

You need to download and unzip from the "extras" folder ALL the levels and not only the level4.
Levels start to Level0 to Level4
I presume the readme.txt is in one of these files
P4c 3.0Ghz, 1 Gb, XP sp1, GeForce FX5700u 128 Mb, NV 93.71, Celestia 1.5.0pre2, BMNG 64k

Hi jdou,
thank you for the reply, but honestly it doesn't help. I suppose you mean that I have to unzip the files 'MoonLevel4_p1.zip' and ..._p2.zip into (not 'from') the 'extras' folder. I did this anyway. Unzipping leads to the folder structure: 'hires' --> 'Moon' --> 'level4' and in that last folder you'll find the files 'tx_0_0.png' up to 'tx_31_15.png' (while, by the way, the file 'tx_2_14.png' is not accepted for unkown reasons).
So there is no Level0, there is only a Level4 and there is unfortunately no readme.txt. :(

So who could help please? Maybe John van Vliet?

Like jdou said, you need to download the missing files.

You'll also find instructions on how to get the textures to work by scrolling down a bit on this page.
