Does anyone know of any software or techniques that will do a batch resize of a bunch of png textures while preserving the alpha channel information?
Irfanview does some great batch resizing but does not preserve the alpha channel. :(

I'm releasing a new set of textures to go with my system generator and I'd like to have a low res version as the high res one will be pretty big (80meg).

Gimp, ImageMagic,...

All commands can be performed as batch operations.

Hey Fridger what is this GIMP program

I tried looking for it... and my search engine asked if I was 18 and over.
then I got a big shock, "that can't be it" I thought. :?
saw some very strange pictures. 8O

Well, I'm not Fridger, but... Gimp is the GNU image manipulation program (hence the name). Its home page is the very first link that Google returns if you search just for the keyword "gimp". See http://www.gimp.org/

It's available for Windows as well as Unix and Linux.

I hope this helps a little.
