Moon16kvt DDS installation help

Post #1by The_Agent » 04.08.2005, 22:45

can someone please type a tutorial that is easy to read and understand on how to get moon16vkt installed so it runs please

without the technical babble of the links that i have come across in the forum,

can i also ask those who make there add-on's and textures to add a instruction part to there read me file please, as this would be most helpful

i love the program and also some of the add on's that i have downloaded and got to work, but on the hole i have found it very frustrating just trying to get some things to work as i have no idea how to install them

so far trying to get it to work by looking in the FAQ's i just run into loads of technical talk :( , just want to know where to put folder X in to directory Z to get add-on/texture X working

so far i have installed Moon16KVT
into

C:\Program Files\Celestia\addons\

or is it in the wrong place?

my system spec's are

3.6gig p4
G-Force 6800ultra
1024 meg ddr 3200

any help or tutorial would be most appreciated

Well done!

Purple Mars: Smooth purple, or textured purple? And if textured, does the purple vary between turquoise and magenta and seem to show lots of wrinkly or circular shapes?

Purple is the color you see when you try to use a texture that's a Normal Map as if it were a Surface Texture. Normal Maps are like Bump Maps: they cause shadows to be drawn on the sides of mountains and valleys.

Thank you very much for the quick answer. Now I've managed to install it.
Best wishes
