I'm making a planet on celestia for a woman that i've taken a liking to, and so far, in celestia, the planet looks good, as seen here:
(i know it's the same size as earth, but i'd like it that way )
But i'm wondering, does the surface texture look at all a bit too "cartoonish", and what can i do to improve it if it does seem too "cartoonish"?
(i have no problem with the clouds, they're just the way i want 'em)

Try reducing the Saturation of the texture a bit, this might stop it from looking too colourful and possibly change some of the green parts to more of a brownish colour as this could add some more realism. You might want to add polar ice caps as well.
