so anyway, is it possible? Has anyone done it? Or shall I make it my summer project? :D

Is it possible? Well, take it from me (a master of absolutely NOTHING to do with programming...) OF COURSE it's gotta be possible.

Has anyone done it? Not that I know of.

Your summer project? F-yeah!!!!! (wish I could help - but other than Photoshop skills and being able to juggle five lemons, I'm pretty worthless - but if you can think of anything you need that I can help with... let me know).

Anyone else out there reading this? Masters of the Code... any thoughts?

keyhole imaging is allready being used in VERY hires virtual textures
but they do nead to be remaped from equal area to cylindrical
( according to latatude )
very "fun" to do

keyhole... sadly does not run on Mac's OS X.... but I hear it's pretty cool.
