No, not at all. But I got stuck with the problem that so far I cannot generate a decent 1k mercury texture from what I have, for the distribution. The density of craters is so high that 1k leaves simply not enough room for that. I do not want to reiterate my textures. If I publish one then it should be OK for all resolutions ..Also my free time for doing more time consuming projects has unfortunately been shrinking continuously...When I get home late, I just manage to do these more or less stupid 'fun' things like the 'migrating' Unicorn thread;-)...

Well I am using my 8k Mercury since a long time. The problem remains that it cannot be collapsed acceptably into a 1k texture that we normally take for the official distribution.

Finally, since I am a very busy man, I still have not found the time to select and set up a DSL connection for my rather elaborate intranet at home. In the office I cannot upload 8k textures as a matter of principle...

Doctor Schrempp,

I would certainly like to have a 2k version of your Mercury texture...

This is - by far - that best version of Mercury that this Brain-Dead Celestia User
has seen.

Thanks very much, Bob

Fridger:

I second Bob's suggestion. Even a 2k texture is preferable to what is currently available.

Perhaps you could post a 2k on your site? :?
