I've just come across a site in europe who make ultra high resolution images of some countries. They use planes. I don't think these textures are freely available since the resolution is a maximum of 0.1meter/pixel. But I emailed them anyway. This resolution is really high and with high compression I believe the Netherlands map is already more than 4 GB of data. But in this case I think the level 10 which is 40meter/pixel is not adequate. If I were to get an image of my house and like to add it to celestia, I'd have to use an image with a resolution of 400000 pixels at level 10 to match this level of resolution.
But since these images are scarce maybe the need for a higher level isn't needed. But Eurosense is active in a lot of countries in Europe, so maybe if a lot of ppl email them(the celestia community has people from all over the globe), they will satisfy us, and send something like 32000x32000 pixel sized images of the different countries.
Use for any higher VT levels
Re: Use for any higher VT levels
As far as I know there are some technical limets that prevent Chris to to alow higher levels.Redfish wrote:But in this case I think the level 10 which is 40meter/pixel is not adequate.

This will not work because the maximum resolution for a single tile is given by your grafic card (most times 2k, newer cards 4k).
